Our Spanish Curriculum
At Brunswick we teach using a scheme called i-Languages Spanish. All teaching and learning is structured around these materials but we do supplement these with additional resources, for example songs and stories or videos from the BBC resources.
Children learn to:
- describe people, places, things and actions
- listen attentively to spoken language and show understanding by joining in and responding
- speak in sentences with increasing confidence, using familiar vocabulary, phrases and basic language structures
- engage in simple conversations
- explore the patterns and sounds of language through songs and rhymes
- hear and say stories, songs, poems and rhymes in the language
